"Whatever you wish for my name to be, of course." The demon said kindly at the young teenager, standing quietly in front of him. "What is it that you desire to call me?"

The boy considered the question, looking the man in the face. He reminded him of an uncle that he used to have, who had been run over by a stray carriage during a visit a few years back. What was the uncle's name? It took him a moment to recall.

"...Thatch," Edwyn decided. "Can you be Thatch?"

"If that is what you wish, then so be it." The demon nodded. "Now, what is your first order of business, young master?" Thatch lifted an eyebrow. "I think your mother could do with some fresh air, don't you think?" The man watched the boy and kept his eyes on his as he walked passed his shorter form towards the boy's mother's room.

The boy gave a slight nod, looking hesitantly down at his chest, at the mark. He took a moment to button it back up before heading into his mother's room.

The demon was beside the woman's bed, helping her up onto her feet; he'd placed a hand between the woman's shoulders while his other hand had her hand placed in his palm, for support.

"Oh my... I haven't been out of that bed in quit a while... I wonder why I'm feeling so much better-- Oh, but I mustn't jinx it, this is wonderful!" The woman laughed lightheartedly. "Oh Edwyn, why don't we go take a ride?" She said lightly, having forgotten about the boy's horse, although she'd just said it a while ago. Then again, it had been before the demon had done anything.

"Is there anything you require, young master?" The demon's eyes turned to look at the boy, as if expecting a command.

"Oh, yes Mother," Edwyn answered, a happy smile curving on his features at his mother's words. It was so good to hear her without the constant signs of sickness grating against her voice. He turned to Thatch. "Ah...yes. A carriage.....er...please get one." his words were awkward; he was not used to giving orders to anyone.

"As you wish, young master." Thatch bowed lightly before leaving the room.


Only moments later he returned, knocking on the door lightly. "As you wished, young master, a carriage has been prepared for your ride this afternoon." The servant bowed slightly and motioned for the door. "Shall we proceed outside, Madam?" He looked up at the woman.

"Oh a carriage, how lovely~" The boy's mother laughed joyfully, making to stand from her bed.

Outside, two large Clydesdale horses, both deep brown in color, were standing near-triumphantly in the road. Their large hooves clicked against the stone pavement of the streets as they shifted their weight back from front legs to back, and vise versa.

Edwyn stepped outside, blue eyes staring at the carriage. The speed at which the demon had retrieved it had been phenomenal; this deal of servitude was going to take time for him to get used to. Attempting to take it in stride, he forced his eyes away and turned to his mother with a smile. He offered his hand to help her walk, still thinking her unhealthy despite her seeming better health.
