| The night air was welcoming- quiet, subtle, and warm. Paths were clear, forest leaves gleamed, and the nocturnal creatures found in the area were not to be seen. An illuminating full moon gave off great light that spread and enveloped all features into a smooth silver. One area seemed to deny this light, however, its seemingly endless entrance of a cave soaking up all that touched it. The cavern entrance was a small one, fit only for the size of a single human being. Its intimidating darkness was enough to make most walk right past it. Even if one had decided to brave the adventure, they would most likely never see what it lead to. This tunnel was windy in its path, twisting and turning and forking off in ways that would leave any intruding presence lost and confused. It was also unlikely that they would ever find their way out again. But if one were to actually dodge the false routes and the dead ends, they would be lead to quite the magnificent place. Gold would glow from the walls, never meeting the silver sister outside, and luxurious, crimson cloth would hang from the ceiling. Items befitting a castle would decorate the place, their appearances both pricey and delicate. In the middle of this all would be a simple, round table, and over its surface a white cloth so long it hung to the floor. A single candle lied in the center, with a glass of red wine nearby. Two chairs, heavily padded and adorned with the colors of red and gold, sat around the structure. One occupied chair was turned to face the entrance. Golden-yellow eyes, striking in their shade and color, watched unblinking on the same. A nail, nearly the same color as the red throughout the room, tapped slowly on the chair's wooden arm. Each tap punctuated another sound- a soft hum, or rather, a song coming from the sitting incubus. It was a song of unrecognizable lyrics, and was delivered with an air of enchantment. Each word came with a small smile aboard slender lips. He hummed. He tapped. He waited. | |
